New Continuent proxy solution provides seamless integration between applications and clustered MySQL and PostgreSQL databases.
San Jose, CA (PRWEB) December 11, 2007 -- Continuent, Inc., the leading provider of commercial open source middleware solutions for database high-availability and scalability, today announced a new release of its uni/cluster Connector.
Continuent uni/cluster is a suite of middleware software that delivers high-availability and scalability clustering for virtually any mission critical database application. Continuent uni/cluster Connector is a key part of the Continuent vision of transparent database clustering using off-the-shelf databases and commodity hardware. The Connector allows applications that use MySQL® or PostgreSQL native database APIs to connect directly to Continuent uni/cluster without changing libraries or making code alterations.
"We are excited to announce prepared statement support for the uni/cluster Connector. It is an innovative SQL proxy that allows MySQL and PostgreSQL native clients to connect transparently to Continuent uni/cluster database clustering without changes to application code or library changes," says Eero Teerikorpi, CEO at Continuent.
This latest version of uni/cluster Connector supports all API calls, including use of prepared statements. With complete SQL support, uni/cluster Connector now covers the full gamut of API calls used by client applications. This release of Connector completely replaces previous library-based solutions requiring complex linking and configuration. Installation and configuration of the Connector can be completed within a few minutes and do not require any application changes.
