Gig Harbor, WA (PRWEB) December 12, 2007 -- The Make the Dash Count Foundation is currently seeking grant applications from non-profits that focus on helping youth reach their full potential. To qualify organizations must, at a minimum, be based in western and southeastern Washington or the greater Boston Massachusetts area. On-line inquiries are due by December 15, 2007.

In the spring of 2008 four Make the Dash Count Foundation community youth boards will distribute up to $80,0000 in grant funds to organizations within their communities that serve youth at risk. The boards participating in this grantmaking process include the following: South Sound (Tacoma, WA), Seattle (WA), Columbia Valley (Prosser, WA) and MetroWest (Wayland, MA).

Organizations wishing to apply must complete a short on-line inquiry. The on-line inquiry can be accessed through the Foundation's website at http://www.makethedashcount.com/grant-application.html and must be completed by December 15th.

The Make the Dash Count Foundation is committed to introducing young people to the realities and responsibilities of philanthropy. The Foundation is a 501 (c) (3) nonprofit foundation dedicated to developing the next generation of community leaders while also benefiting at-risk youth. The foundation does this by facilitating five community youth boards, each comprised of a diverse group of high-school-aged youth from the Board's local area. These young people serve as stewards of the Foundation, annually awarding grant monies to community nonprofit organizations serving youth at-risk of not meeting their full potential. In their first two years of grantmaking, Dash youth boards distributed more than $100,000 in grants to community programs in Washington and Massachusetts. An additional $80,000 in funds will be granted in the spring of 2008.
