Two leading aerospace and defense groups form strategic alliance.
Irvine, California (PRWEB) December 22, 2007 -- Supplier Excellence Alliance (SEA) board Chairman Michael G. Beason and the Society of British Aerospace Companies (SBAC) AeIGT Programmes Director, A.S. Leather announced a milestone alliance that will advance the mutual goals of both organizations and improve competitiveness at every level of the global aerospace, defense and space supply chain.
SEA is the non-profit alliance of industry prime and tier-one contractors and leading suppliers. Its purpose is to accelerate supply chain performance.
SBAC is the United Kingdom's national trade association representing companies supplying civil air transportation, aerospace and defense, homeland security, and space.
The organizations will combine forces and activities to develop a common criteria and/or certification for suppliers that would minimize developmental visits and redundant audits, adopt an international framework for categorization and assessment of supply chain continuous improvement processes, and establish common criteria for formal recognition for the contributions and commitment of aerospace and defense suppliers to continuous improvement.
"This partnership with SBAC is an important step in helping SEA members follow their global supply chains," notes Beason.
