Applied Language Solutions provide free Polish translation of the Queen's Speech on YouTube.

(PRWEB) December 29, 2007 -- Applied Language Solutions, a language services company, have translated the 2007 Royal Christmas Message into Polish and posted it on the popular video sharing website YouTube. Polish is fast becoming one of the most used languages in the UK, so the company took it upon themselves to ensure that the Queen's annual message to the nation could be appreciated by the Polish community.

The Huddersfield-based company raced to have the translation and voice-over completed as quickly as possible to ensure that the Queen's Christmas message was available to a wider portion the UK, who cannot speak English.

"We see this as a service to the non-English speaking communities in the UK who are an integral part of the community. We identified Polish as the one of the up and coming languages currently in use in the country. We're also working on Urdu and Bengali versions which should be posted in the next few days. In future years we'd love to expand the project so that more of the UK population can enjoy the tradition of the Queen's speech." said Gavin Wheeldon, Chief Executive of Applied Language.

The Queen's annual message is a closely guarded secret until the broadcast at 3pm on Christmas Day. So, the Head of Projects for Applied Language Claire Adams gave up her Christmas Day to co-ordinate the translations and voice over recordings of the speech with the companies most experienced linguists. Richard Michie, Head of Marketing & PR, then put together the voice overs and a video clip and raced to get them posted on YouTube as quickly as possible.
