NetQoS® GigaStor™ Provides Back-in-Time Analysis for DigitalGlobe to Troubleshoot Application Performance Issues and Mitigate Risk as Network Data Grows - NetQoS Inc. announced that Longmont, Colo.-based DigitalGlobe, provider of the world's highest-resolution commercial satellite imagery and geospatial information products, has chosen NetQoS GigaStor for network and application performance troubleshooting via long-term packet capture and analysis.

Austin, Texas (PRWEB) December 3, 2007 -- NetQoS® Inc. announced that Longmont, Colo.-based DigitalGlobe, provider of the world's highest-resolution commercial satellite imagery and geospatial information products, has chosen NetQoS GigaStor™ for network and application performance troubleshooting via long-term packet capture and analysis.

With the September launch of its second satellite, called WorldView-1, DigitalGlobe has quadrupled the volume of data traversing its network for processing and publishing to its growing list of customers. With greater data throughput comes the risk of increased performance issues and, after testing multiple products, the company chose NetQoS GigaStor to identify and troubleshoot network issues before they can impact the business.

NetQoS GigaStor has superior line capture ability, excellent overall performance, and more flexibility than the competing products we tested. It is the only expandable solution we found to keep up with our bandwidth and storage needs.
"With the launch of WorldView-1 and a new satellite scheduled to be completed in the next year, the demands on our network will continue to grow. We needed a troubleshooting product that will grow with us, and NetQoS GigaStor will do that," said Jeff Niggemeyer, NOC manager for DigitalGlobe. "NetQoS GigaStor has superior line capture ability, excellent overall performance, and more flexibility than the competing products we tested. It is the only expandable solution we found to keep up with our bandwidth and storage needs."

NetQoS GigaStor captures everything traversing the network at wire-speed and stores it to disk. With the ability to view and analyze detailed packet-level information before, during, and after a problem, engineers can mitigate risks from planned changes and unexpected events, and troubleshoot issues more quickly and effectively. DigitalGlobe engineers can respond to a complaint by isolating the issue with only a general idea of when the problem occurred. This eliminates the need to recreate the problem or attempt to detect and capture it once again. Available with 16, 32, and 48 TB of RAID storage, NetQoS GigaStor will expand as an organization's network needs increase.

"DigitalGlobe is being proactive by deploying NetQoS GigaStor to ensure that the growing amounts of data across its network will not impact its business," said Scott Sherwood, vice president of worldwide sales for NetQoS. "NetQoS GigaStor gives DigitalGlobe an easily expandable solution to understand exactly what is happening on its network now and in the future as network traffic increases in volume and complexity."

About NetQoS GigaStor
NetQoS GigaStor is a retrospective network analysis (RNA) solution capable of storing terabytes of packet-level traffic to disk for network analysis on a variety of full-duplex network topologies, including WAN, LAN, Fibre Channel, wireless, gigabit, and 10 Gigabit (10 GbE). This data can be used to analyze network performance, mission-critical connections, and intermittent issues with the GigaStor's unique time-based navigation utility. When investigating network performance issues, NetQoS GigaStor eliminates the need to recreate a problem on the network. For investigating network policy violations or compliance issues, NetQoS GigaStor reassembles packet streams and recreates e-mails, visits to Web sites, IM sessions, and VoIP calls. The appliance performs real-time Expert processing at the probe rather than pulling the packet capture over the network to the console. The GigaStor has a 64-bit core and can capture up to 48 TB, or offload to a SAN. For more information, visit http://www.netqos.com/solutions/gigastor
