Employees of ResortQuest Northwest Florida presented a check for over $32,600 to the United Way for 2008.
Fort Walton Beach, FL (PRWEB) December 14, 2007 -- During November, ResortQuest employees along Northwest Florida's beautiful Emerald Coast raised over $32,600 for the United Way of Okaloosa & Walton Counties, which encompasses some of Florida's most popular beach vacation destinations including Destin, Fort Walton Beach and Beaches of South Walton. Almost 300 employees made monetary pledges to the campaign. "We had an incredible response of generosity from our employees this year," states Scott Seeger, United Way Campaign Leader and Director of Human Resources for ResortQuest of Northwest Florida.
Employees of ResortQuest Northwest Florida presented a check for over $32,600 to Rhonda Davenport, United Way Director of Resource Development/Campaigns, and Joyce Shanahan, City Manager for Fort Walton Beach and President Elect of United Way for 2008. In return, Shanahan presented ResortQuest with a certificate celebrating 50 years of caring with the United Way and a pewter dish, a gift reserved for companies that went above and beyond in this year's campaign.
ResortQuest employees did more than just open their wallets; they opened their hearts and toured several local United Way organizations including Sharing and Caring of Okaloosa Island, Habitat for Humanity, Covenant Hospice, Harvest House, and the YMCA of Florida's Emerald Coast. ResortQuest was also a sponsor of the United Way Day of Caring and Sharing in September with over twenty employees volunteering to help with community projects in Niceville, Destin and Fort Walton Beach.
