The Vermont White Spruce and Manhattan Flatback pre-lit artificial Christmas trees by luxury artificial Christmas tree retailer Balsam Hill ™ featured on The Today Show's "Countdown to Christmas" Segment.

Redwood City, CA (PRWEB) December 15, 2007 -- The Vermont White Spruce artificial Christmas trees from the Vermont Signature ™ collection and Manhattan Flatback half-size artificial Christmas trees from the Balsam Hill ™ collection, both by luxury artificial Christmas tree retailer Balsam Hill ™, were highlighted on morning news program The Today Show. The segment, titled "Countdown to Christmas: How to Find the Right Tree" was led by The Today Show lifestyle editor Elizabeth Mayhew, and focused on selecting the right tree to match your personality and lifestyle.

The segment showcased The Vermont White Spruce tree first. Host Ann Curry expressed disbelief when she learned that the Vermont White Spruce was artificial. Mayhew described the Vermont White Spruce as the "I'm Crazy Busy Tree", highlighting its ease of set-up and the fact that it comes pre-lit. She also pointed out the unique Balsam Hill ™ Color+Clear ™ remote-controlled lighting system, which allows the user to select lights that are clear, multicolored or both, depending on their preference. Next, Mayhew touted the Manhattan Flatback tree as ideal for small apartments, as it takes up half the space of a full-size tree, but looks just like the real thing when placed against a wall.

While the segment featured both real and artificial trees, Mayhew was quick to point out the growing trend in artificial trees. "I'm a convert," she added. "The only thing missing in my mind is the smell, but you can totally replace that. Williams Sonoma has this incredible candle that really smells like the [Christmas tree."

"We are very pleased to have two of our trees featured on the Today Show," commented Balsam Hill ™ founder Thomas Harman, "especially the Manhattan Flatback. It's the perfect tree for a small New York apartment. And Ann Curry's disbelief that our Vermont White Spruce was artificial confirms that our True Needle ™ technology is really the best thing out there for creating realistic artificial evergreen needles!" Exclusive to Balsam Hill ™, the True Needle ™ process combines high quality injection-molded plastic with shading and texture variations to create needles that are realistic in both appearance and feel.
