The Flash Gaming Network Takes the Next Step in Featuring Online Flash Content

The Flash Gaming Network takes a new approach to featuring online flash content now offering in-depth reviews and proper author credit for each game. With new games added weekly, a highly searchable database, and artist-cataloguing, FGN intends to be the first of its kind.

(PRWeb) February 1, 2007 -- Unlike many sites that simply scour the net for new games to add, The Flash Gaming Network (www.flashgn.com) now features in-depth reviews of all games featured on its pages. It also ensures that proper credit is given to the authors, and that traffic is directed to the author's website when possible.

The Flash Gaming Network was created to give more recognition to the flash game authors themselves. Made by Shawn Tanner, a flash game producer, The Flash Gaming Network (FGN) treats all flash games as genuine productions- warranting discussion, fair ratings, and comparative reviews. Shawn, who goes under the alias of 'Afro Ninja', has been making flash games since 2002 and realizes first-hand the effort that goes into creating them.

Flash games have come a long way since the early 2000's. Many flash games found today have quality and depth to them that is comparable to full length classic console games of past decades. Just because they can't compete with the newest systems on the market doesn't mean they don't deserve the same appreciation given to games of years ago. While there have been several casual blog-style websites that review flash games, FGN is the first attempt to create a comprehensive collection and catalogue of flash game reviews.

Each week FGN picks out a group of games to review (some old, some new) and places them on its front page with ratings and one-line summaries. Updates are offered via rss and email newsletter. All games featured on the site are given editorial reviews and scores in individual categories such as graphics, sound, and presentation. Awards are given to higher-scoring games, and FGN also offers the ability for author's to display FGN game scores on their own webpages. The FGN database is highly searchable, offering the user to search by author real name, author alias, game title, game category, and more to come. FGN also features community forums and rating options, as well as lists of the top rated and worst rated games.

Shawn Tanner is the author of several popular flash games, including Territory WAR, Nightmare House, and the Afro Ninja Escape Series.
