Captive Indoor Media announced today that the company has released a new digital signage product designed to control video wall configurations with up to 8 screens. The first installation is complete and was installed for the Louisville Convention & Visitors Bureau's (LCVB) new Visitor Information Center located in downtown Louisville, KY.

Louisville, KY (PRWeb) February 6, 2007 -- Captive Indoor Media announced today that the company has released a new digital signage product designed to control video wall configurations with up to 8 screens. The first installation is complete and was installed for the Louisville Convention & Visitors Bureau's (LCVB) new Visitor Information Center located in downtown Louisville, KY.

"This project was very exciting for us," said Brian Nutt, Founder and President of Captive Indoor Media. "When we were approached by the LCVB, we knew the visibility of this installation would create positive momentum for our company as well as continue to propel our product forward. This new product fits in perfectly with our objective to be a leader in the digital signage industry," added Nutt.

We are lucky to have such a unique and capable resource from a local company like Captive Indoor Media
The video wall space has been dominated by a hand full of companies with very high end, complex and expensive products. Many products can go for as much as $100,000 for just the hardware and software necessary to drive the screens. With that type of price point, it is easy to see why the market for video wall purchases has been limited.

"As part of this project, we considered the overall market for video wall products," said Brian Nutt. "And, just as with our current digital signage application, we saw huge potential in the mid-market space. I think we have created a very affordable product that will enable mid-size companies to implement a video wall without the great expense or time commitment needed to utilize other similar products," added Nutt.

The video wall, located at 4th and Jefferson in downtown Louisville, KY, utilizes 8 screens in a 2x4 configuration facing the street through floor to ceiling glass windows. The internet based digital signage software provided by Captive Indoor Media allows customers to schedule content over their web to individual screens, groups of screens or all 8 screens at once. The software also allows for live video and audio inputs so the LCVB can accommodate events and display them on the screens. All of these features were specifically requested by the Convention and Visitors Bureau.

"We are lucky to have such a unique and capable resource from a local company like Captive Indoor Media," said Garry Cronin, VP of Finance & Administration for the LCVB. "During our search for a vendor, we interviewed companies from all over the country. Each of them suggested solutions well above $100,000 for a video wall product and none of them seemed to be able to understand our exact needs," added Cronin. "Captive Indoor Media custom built this application for us and delivered it with player hardware and all of the features and functionality we wanted for a very affordable price" said Cronin.
