The Professional Pricing Society released its bi-annual salary & state of profession survey. The survey contains information for anyone involved in Marketing and/or Pricing.

Atlanta, GA (PRWeb) February 6, 2007 -- The Professional Pricing Society released the results of its 2006 membership salary survey. The results were very positive; the pricing profession continues to grow. This survey is a must read for all Pricing Executives and Management personnel.

The Professional Pricing Society has been surveying the Pricing Community every two years since 1998. In late 2006 we again surveyed Pricers and received a record of 886 survey responses. This is up dramatically from 630 responses in 2004 and 258 responses in 2002. The survey results are widely used to benchmark salaries and salary trends as well as job satisfaction among pricing professionals.

Most categories of Pricers salaries surged from 2004 to 2006:

  • Pricing manager's average annual salaries jumped 6%
  • Directors reported their salaries rocketed up 9%
  • Pricing Analysts reported their compensation increased of 5%.

Several Industries saw large increases in salaries in 2006:
  • Distribution Pricers earned 30% more than they did in 2004
  • B2B rose 18% and Industrial Pricers earned 15.5% more than 2 years ago.

Job Satisfaction in Pricing - This is the second time that PPS have surveyed in depth, how satisfied pricing professionals are and identified their unmet wants and needs. On a scale of 1 to 5, where 5 is very satisfied and 1 is very dissatisfied, pricing professionals overall ranked their job as a 3.69 out of 5.00. VP's labeled their happiness as 3.79, Directors at 3.79, Managers at 3.73 and analyst 3.58. This is a must read for anybody involved in Pricing and/or Pricing Management.

To read the entire results of the survey with accompanying charts and graphs go to www.pricingsociety.com and access "2006 Salary Survey" in the RESOURCE CENTER.

The Professional Pricing Society will host its 18th Annual Spring Conference and Workshops on April 18th-20th, 2007 in Atlanta GA. This will be the largest gathering of pricers in the world.
