The team’s presentation will highlight the benefits and challenges of Computer Adaptive Testing (CAT) in personnel selection.

CAT is a method for administering tests that adapt to the examinee's ability level by successively selecting questions that maximize the precision of the exam based on what is known about the examinee’s knowledge. For example, if a candidate performs well on an item of intermediate difficulty, he or she will then be presented with a more difficult question. Or, if a question is answered incorrectly, he or she would be presented with an easier question. Compared to tests with static questions, computer-adaptive tests require fewer questions to accurately assess a candidate’s knowledge or skill.
