RSS Feeds are continuing to grow in popularity as a preferred method of receiving frequently updated content online. As RSS aggregators have become more sophisticated, it is more common for users to subscribe to several feeds at any given time. Mixlet, the latest RSS search engine to hit the World Wide Web, is focused on becoming the most popular clearinghouse for curious new subscribers.

(PRWeb) February 7, 2007 -- New content appears online at a far faster rate than the World Wide Web's users can consume it all, creating a real need for efficiency among those users who just can't get enough. For many, the answer came in the form of RSS feeds -- easy to configure subscriptions to frequently updated content that are funneled into a single reader or "aggregator." As the feeds become more common, it fueled an all new need; users sought a way to efficiently search RSS feeds to keep even more relevant content flowing into their aggregators. With much opportunity still existing in this market, Mixlet has burst onto the scene with its own powerful RSS channel search engine at Mixlet.com.

Mixlet makes it easier to search and subscribe to RSS and Atom feeds from a variety of popular sources.
Mixlet allows users to search RSS feeds with filtered results from various sources that cover a huge range of subject matter. Its search results are currently from leading feed trackers Technorati, Feedster and Digg.

"RSS and Atom feeds are rapidly growing as a standard form of publishing and subscribing to blogs, news and other forms of continually updated content," explains Anders Lindman, owner of Mixlet. "Mixlet makes it easier to search and subscribe to RSS and Atom feeds from a variety of popular sources."

Mixlet has carved out its niche in the RSS channel search market by focusing on the quality of search results. By employing a more advanced content filter, Mixlet makes it easier to locate relevant results without sifting through dozens of unrelated feeds.

Several user-friendly benefits of RSS feeds have bolstered their popularity among information seekers. Once subscribed to a feed, its user will receive updates regularly without having to conduct individual searches. Even media like podcasts or video files can be downloaded on schedule without additional action or authorization. Most aggregators display all RSS feeds in a similar format, saving users the trouble of adjusting to unfamiliar styles and allowing for greater ease of use.

RSS feeds have also given tough competition to the use of e-mail newsletters, primarily because feed users never need to divulge their e-mail addresses in order to subscribe to a new feed. This helps to reduce the risk of being targeted for identity theft and receiving spam or viruses. Feeds are also read and stored in a completely separate location than e-mails, and unsubscribing from feeds is as simple as removing the feed from the aggregator's list.
