Award honors outstanding achievement in software, digital information,
and education technology industries.
Cambridge, MA (PRWeb) February 7, 2007 -- Jenzabar, Inc., the pioneer of Total Campus Management solutions for higher education, has announced that the Software Information Industry Association (SIIA) has named Jenzabar's Non-Traditional System (Jenzabar® NTS) a 2007 CODiE Award Finalist in the "Best Education Solution" category.
This recognition of Jenzabar NTS highlights the growing need of colleges and universities to more effectively manage their growing adult learner and continuing-education (non-traditional) student populations and programs, and Jenzabar's ability to develop industry-leading solutions to meet the evolving needs of the higher education market.
The nomination marks the second straight year that Jenzabar has been selected as a CODiE Finalist. Last year, Jenzabar's JICS Web portal won the CODiE for "Best Postsecondary Education Enterprise Portal."
The CODiE Awards is the preeminent awards program recognizing outstanding achievement in the software and information industry. This year's finalists were chosen by a unique combination of journalists and peer review, analyzing 72 categories of exceptional products and service. The 367 finalists were chosen from more than 1,200 nominations submitted by more than 600 companies--exceeding the previous record set in 2006.
"The 2007 CODiE Finalists represent real winners, even at this stage of the contest," said Ken Wasch, SIIA President. "Competition is fiercer than ever and that makes selection as a CODiE Finalist a major achievement. All the companies on this year's list should feel justifiably proud of their recognition."
Jenzabar NTS is a software product designed to help colleges, universities, and other educational institutions plan and manage their non-traditional programs such as continuing-education, distance learning, professional studies, and certificate programs. Often, these programs present unique administrative challenges to institutions compared to traditional semester-based programs. Jenzabar NTS allows institutions to schedule any kind of class at any time and for any duration. It allows an institution to register first-time and returning students online, manage and analyze financial and student data related to courses, create budgets, schedule resources, plan marketing campaigns, and even forecast the success of those courses before an institution is committed to the offering. Built on a Java platform, Jenzabar NTS is flexible enough to meet any institution's unique needs and can be integrated with any other student information system, ERP, or financial system.
Michigan State University, Park University, and Central Florida Community College are a few of the Jenzabar clients currently licensing Jenzabar NTS.
"Jenzabar's Non-Traditional System represents the way of the future for providing more flexible and efficient management of non-term-based programs, one of the most significant growth areas for higher education," said Jenzabar Chairman and CEO Robert A. Maginn. "We are very honored that Jenzabar NTS is being recognized as a CODiE Awards Finalist. To us, it is further acknowledgement of the leadership position we've taken in meeting the needs of the higher education community."
This year's finalists represent an impressive array of technology and business innovation, success and vision. The 22nd Annual CODiE Awards Gala will be held on April 17, 2007 at the historic Palace Hotel in San Francisco, where winners in each category will be formally announced.
