After evaluating a number of products to assist us in the conversion of Lotus Notes databases and documents to SharePoint Lists and Document Libraries, we have found Proposion Portal Migrator to be the easiest and most effective solution. Proposion Portal Migrator has been a real-time saver for us.
Since Proposion licensed its Portal Migrator 1.0 code base to Microsoft Corporation (now shipping as Microsoft Application Transporter), Proposion has continued to develop and enhance the product and with release 3.0 has established Proposion Portal Migrator as the preferred migration solution for SharePoint 2007.

As stated by Hans-Martin Fetzer of intellecom GmbH, "Our consultants worked closely with Proposion Software while Portal Migrator 3.0 was in beta and with the 3.0 regular release our consultants have continued to see numerous product enhancements and advanced features being added to Portal Migrator. Portal Migrator 3.0 is a tool and resource that is adding value to intellecom's services offering, benefiting our customers, and helping intellecom succeed in the Lotus Notes to Microsft SharePoint migration services space."

Proposion Portal Migrator 3.0 adds support for MOSS 2007 and WSS 3 and leverages many of the new capabilities of SharePoint including document-level security, major and minor versioning, folders, and much more. Examples of added Portal Migrator functionality:

- Portal Migrator 3.0 new security mapping options include mapping of Notes Users and
Groups to SharePoint site collection members, mapping of Notes ACL Roles to SharePoint Groups, mapping of Notes ACL permissions to SharePoint list permissions, and mapping of Notes document level reader/writer permissions to SharePoint item permissions.
- Portal Migrator 3.0 also allows users to migrate rich Notes documents (images, attachments,
tables, etc.) to MIME files in SharePoint document libraries. Alternatively, users can migrate those same Notes documents to Enhanced Rich Text fields in SharePoint lists, where the embedded images, attachments, and tables appear "in place".
- Extensive support for dynamically assigning content types and approval status based on
input data has been added.
- Portal Migrator 3.0 contains new options for mapping duplicate documents (Write
new item, Replace existing item, Create new version, Skip item) which allow for running the same migration job repeatedly while always yielding the desired result.

States Marc Werner-Nietz, Project Manager, Festo AG & Co KG - "We chose Proposion Portal Migrator because Proposion had the most advanced features for migrating Lotus Notes content to SharePoint 2007 and Proposion Software provided fast & knowledgeable support to our consultants from intellecom. Throughout the evaluation process, Proposion Software continuously differentiated itself from other vendors by quickly conveying answers to the Festo & intellecom team and by demonstrating how their Portal Migrator product could readily accomplish our Lotus Notes data migration requirements for SharePoint 2007."

Most consultants and users find Proposion's software product to be very powerful yet easy to use thereby delivering a strong return on investment and positive project results. In a matter of just a few weeks, one of Proposion's recent customers migrated the majority of their targeted Notes applications over to SharePoint. According to Anthony Lopez of Bracco Diagnostics, "After evaluating a number of products to assist us in the conversion of Lotus Notes databases and documents to SharePoint Lists and Document Libraries, we have found Proposion Portal Migrator to be the easiest and most effective solution. Proposion Portal Migrator has been a real-time saver for us.".

Peter Burns, Proposion Software's VP of Sales adds "We're very excited about the quality of product we've achieved and the level of success our business partners and customers are having with Proposion Portal Migrator. Based upon a successful track record with SharePoint 2003, current levels of project success involving SharePoint 2007, and from the feedback from events such as Microsoft European SharePoint Conference 2007, we continue to hear that Proposion Portal Migrator is the product of choice and delivers great results."

Proposion Portal Migrator is complemented by Proposion's other products: Proposion Portal Adapter (which integrates live Lotus Notes Email, Calendar, Tasks, and other standard Notes functionality into Microsoft SharePoint), Proposion Report Adapter (which connects Microsoft SQL Server Reporting Services with Lotus Notes), and Proposion N2N (an ADO.NET data driver that allows .NET Framework developers to build their own integration/migration solutions for Lotus Notes). Proposion Software has also announced two new products: Proposion On Demand (a Lotus Notes client-based tool which extends Notes applications and data directly to Microsoft SharePoint) and Proposion Identity Adapter (Allows SharePoint or ASP.NET to use Domino Directory for authenticating users, managing groups, and achieving Single Sign-On).
