Massachusetts City to Gain from Harvard Executive Education Program

Senior real estate executives and architects participating in a Harvard University Executive Education Program are working together to revitalize downtown Methuen, Massachusetts.

Cambridge, MA (PRWeb) February 11, 2007 -- Participants in Harvard's Advanced Management Development Program in Real Estate (AMDP) are developing plans to revitalize downtown Methuen, MA. The 19 participants toured the site in July 2007 and since then have been in regular contact with the Methuen Department of Economic and Community Development.

The project is a requirement of the AMDP, an executive education program at Harvard University Graduate School of Design (GSD) for senior executives in real estate and related building industries.

Participants are divided into two teams and each is required to produce a Strategic Development Plan for the City of Methuen, and a detailed Downtown Methuen Development Plan. Each team will present its concepts and plans to a jury of developers, city representatives, and Harvard GSD faculty on February 15 from 1:00-5:00pm at Harvard's Gund Hall, 48 Quincy Street, Cambridge, MA.

Methuen Mayor William M. Manzi III will be in attendance along with Economic & Community Development Director Karen Sawyer Faust and several other city leaders. Invitees include: Congressman Marty Meehan, State Senator Steven Baddour, State Representative Linda Dean Campbell, State Representative Barbara L'Italien, former State Senator and Public Safety Secretary James Jajuga, and former Governor Michael Dukakis.
