(PRWeb) February 20, 2007 -- What is the secret? The power of our thoughts to create our individual experiences. The secret has been discussed on Oprah, CNN, on web sites, blogs and Internet discussion groups. The book that discusses our power thoughts is aptly titled The Secret; not surprisingly the book is a bestseller on Amazon.com. Millions of people around the world are rushing to learn more about the secret, but are the truths written about in the book really a secret?
Ruth Fishel, therapist, meditation speaker and teacher and author of the best selling book Time For Joy, candidly discusses this very topic with CBK's Denise Turney (www.Chistell.com) on Off The Shelf. Fishel is familiar with the power of thought. She is a former alcoholic who has been sober for 33 years. She meditates daily and started a rehabilitation program, Serenity Transitional Employment, in Cape Cod for former alcoholics that is now run by the state. In 1992 Fishel lost her beloved son just as she prepared to create the dedication page to her hit book Hang In 'Til The Miracle Happens. It was a loss not wished upon anyone, but an event that causes her to be familiar with the pain Super Bowl champion coach Tony Dungy and his wife, lived through last year.
During the feature, Turney and Fishel tackle issues such as recovery, public speaking, facing fear and Fishel's fascinating new book which speaks to world peace. "I'm told by publishers that books about peace don't sell well, but I am committed to this book. I know I will come in contact with a publisher who supports a book about world peace," Fishel openly shares during the interview. Fishel is also appearing at two women's events in the Florida area, where she and her husband make one of their two homes. The exclusive interview with Ruth Fishel airs on CBK's Off The Shelf (www.blakeradio.com) in March (EST).
Off The Shelf's founder and host, Denise Turney, is the author of the new book Long Walk Up (www.Chistell.com), a book that tells the story of a young girl from East Africa who makes a triumphant journey from abject poverty to freedom and national leadership. Long Walk Up will be in stores March 2007. To read free excerpts of Long Walk Up, go to www.chistell.com
