In an effort to make a difference in a child's life, Pink Olive has partnered with A Child's Desire charity to run its first annual art competition for kids.
New York, New York (PRWEB) February 21, 2007 -- Pink Olive, everyone's favorite online destination for baby, gifts and getaway is partnering with A Child's Desire to run its first annual art competition for kids.
Pink Olive, at www.pinkoliveboutique.com, stems from Grace Kang's passion for love, happiness and home. In collaborating with A Child's Desire, a non-profit charity that provides grants for families seeking to adopt children, Pink Olive aims to bring children and art together. "Children today are our future. We need creative leaders to make this world a better place," said Grace Kang, founder and designer of Pink Olive. "Every child deserves to be in a loving family environment and we need to make that happen one orphan at a time."
"There are so many children waiting for a family to choose them, to bring them home, to love them, to support them, and to validate their lives," said Tanya Sturman, founder of A Child's Desire. "There are so many couples with space in their hearts and a spare bedroom in their homes, who want to become parents for one of these children. However, the high costs of adoption can prevent these parents from completing an adoption."
Kang expects parents from all over the country to participate in this art competition and have their children realize their artistic potential. "There is so much joy in knowing that you played a part in dramatically changing the life of a child for the good," said Sturman. The Pink Olive for Kids Art competition will give children an opportunity to express themselves in a creative way and help support other children in need.
Pink Olive will start accepting art submissions from March 1st to June 30th for the following age brackets: 3-6 year old and 7-10 year old children.
Winners will be chosen in each of the following category: Most Original; Most Promising; and Most Creative.
Please submit original artwork (no bigger than 9" x 12") to Pink Olive, 330 w.56th Street, Suite 4b New York, NY 10019 with the following information: name, age, address, phone, email, picture and favorite thing or person.
In addition to the gift prize from Pink Olive boutique, winning artwork will be produced on stationery to be sold on www.pinkoliveboutique.com. Pink Olive will contribute part of the proceeds to A Child's Desire charity.
