Dallas, TX (PRWeb) February 25, 2007 -- LingoLogix (www.lingologix.com) announced today that after extensive testing, Johns Hopkins University, Department of Medicine, has moved the company's GoCode™ software into production and is expanding its use to additional departments. Johns Hopkins has also entered into a long-term relationship with LingoLogix to use GoCode and other products throughout the institution.
GoCode from LingoLogix takes free text encounter notes and uses the next generation of Natural Language Processing (NLP) to structure and codify the notes. GoCode applies SNOMED, ICD9 and E&M codes to the notes and stores the results for further analysis. GoCode is easily integrated into an institution's work flow and existing systems to fully automate coding and billing. The structured, codified notes are available for decision support or other research.
After extensive testing, Johns Hopkins has determined that GoCode is "more accurate than human coders" and is using GoCode to fully automate their ICD9 and E&M coding. If GoCode detects missing or incomplete information, the records are sent to humans for further review. For all other records, GoCode automatically applies ICD9 and E&M codes and sends the results directly to the billing system.
"We are extremely pleased to be working with Johns Hopkins," said Terry McCord, CEO of LingoLogix. "Johns Hopkins has been a wonderful partner in working with LingoLogix to enhance the capabilities of GoCode and fully test the software."
LingoLogix will be demonstrating GoCode and other products in booth 711 at the HIMSS Exhibition in New Orleans, February 26, through March 1.
