Movie distributor Fleaco PIX llc is teaming up with Laemmle Theatres in Los Angeles, California to theatrically release filmmaker Ford Austin's beautiful short film, "Tiny Dancer". The theatrical release, which screens twice daily from March 1st until March 7th 2007, fulfills the qualifications set by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences for the film to be considered for an Academy Award in the Live Action Short category in 2008.

Come and see filmmaker Ford Austin's Live Action Short film that features Balanchine choreography by New York City Ballet primaballerina Zippora Karz, award winning original music by composer Ryan Beveridge, astounding special f/x makeup by Academy Award Nominee Scott Wheeler who is also the makeup department head on the soon to be released "300", storyboards by "Shrek" & "Sharktale" director Vicky Jenson, and performances from the likes of Jed Rowen, Michael Ruotolo, Monte Hunter, David Tremaine, and newcomer Sarah Marson. The film's total running time is 12 minutes and is the first to be shot partially on Super 16mm and High Definition.
"Tiny Dancer" follows an aging ballerina who uses her art to transform the world, until she unintentionally helps street punks find an appreciation for the beauty of life and the human condition through the magic of dance.
The screenings at the Laemmle Grand mark the film's theatrical debut and it will continue to run on the film festival circuit for the coming year as the film's producers make their push towards the 2008 Academy Awards. "Tiny Dancer" is the 2006 Southern California Motion Picture Council "Best Short of the Year", Golden Halo Award. It also received a "Director's Citation Award" from the 2007 Black Maria Film Festival and a Golden Award of Achievement "Best Use of Music in a Short Film" in the 2007 Park City Film Music Festival.
The film's producers are: Michael Marson, Lauree Dash, J. Steve Anderson III, and Carla Tourtellotte. One of the film's producers, Lauree Dash, is the cousin of former Academy President Daniel Taradash who received the Academy Award for Best Screenplay for "From Here to Eternity" and presented Charles Chaplin with his honorary Oscar. The film's director, Ford Austin, was born in Oklahoma, raised in Texas and Oklahoma and is releated to Stephen F. Austin.
