Remote Support's NetworkStreaming, Now Bomgar Corporation, Lands Additional Funding

Ridgeland, MS (PRWeb) February 27, 2007 -- It's been a big week for NetworkStreaming: a name change to that of co-founder and CEO Joel Bomgar, and the company's total backing hit $12 million when Southern Farm Life Insurance Company and GulfSouth Capital invested another $5 million. After yet another record quarter and landing 70% of their targeted accounts in the last year, with others still on the table, it's no surprise that Bomgar's unique appliance-based remote desktop support solutions are winning the funding needed.

Bomgaar Corporation has been cash-flow positive and profitable since its inception in 2003, expanding its customer base to 2,500 companies in 33 countries. Customers include Humana, Kodak Dental Systems, Ohio State University, Armstrong Watson, and AFG.

Bomgar's product also addresses the real needs for today's enterprises -- security, productivity and scalability -- making Bomgar a very compelling investment.
The additional funding will be used to fuel the company's sales and marketing initiatives to educate the market on the benefits of Software as an Appliance (SaaA) with an eye to setting itself apart from competitive remote desktop support vendors selling software via the Application Service Provider (ASP) model, and to adjust its branding as Bomgar.

"Bomgar has taken a fresh approach to the remote control support market, offering an appliance solution to a previously ASP-saturated market," said John Palmer, owner of GulfSouth Capital and founder of SkyTel, which was bought by MCI WorldCom in 1999. "Bomgar's product also addresses the real needs for today's enterprises -- security, productivity and scalability -- making Bomgar a very compelling investment."

Bomgar also plans to use the financing to further develop and enhance its product line, the Bomgar BoxTM (formerly SupportDeskTM), including the introduction of the newest product in the suite, the Bomgar Box 100TM. Targeted for the individual IT remote support and repair consultant, the B100 is the smallest, lightest, and most affordable product in the company's remote desktop support appliance suite.

Globalization and the increased mobility of the workforce have spurred the trend for software that can be easily installed regardless of location, readily scaled for growth, and compliant with the latest regulatory standards while maintaining a low total cost of ownership. Based on the Software-as-an-Appliance (SaaA) model, the Bomgar Box is the gold standard for remote support technology that enables support reps to access any PC or Mac computer anywhere in the world, through a secure web interface, connecting through firewalls and via any Internet connection in seconds. This appliance-based approach also allows organizations to keep both the product itself and record of helpdesk sessions stored within the company's walls, alleviating the liability concerns associated with third party vendors.
