(PRWeb) February 28, 2007 -- PDF Equalizer mean users can easily access electronic books directly from the publisher.

In the world of assistive technology, there have been two conflicting terms - alternative media and accessible media. PDF Equalizer was developed in collaboration with University of Georgia's Alternative Media Access Center and Premier Assistive Technology to bridge that gap by making alternative media into accessible media without going through a conversion process. Increasingly, publishers are being asked to provide their books in alternative formats.

While many publishers have done that, unfortunately, in many cases the documents still are not "accessible". Turning these documents from alternative formats to accessible formats has typically been a time-consuming and a very cumbersome process for the targeted end users that often resulted in a document of lesser quality than the original.

PDF Equalizer solves those problems by letting users access alternative documents directly in the native PDF form from the publisher. PDF Equalizer makes alternative text truly accessible by connecting the world to the publishers with no inconvenient, inefficient and messy conversions. This is a breakthrough for the industry because now the publishers can create the books in a protected PDF file format that keeps the publications integrity intact. It does not require educators to do anything special except provide the publication directly to students. Most importantly, students can read the book the way it was meant to be read…in the original format directly from the publisher.

PDF Equalizer goes beyond just reading - PDF Equalizer can do much more than read your PDF Files aloud to you. It is not only the fact that it reads a document to you, it is HOW it reads combined with many other powerful features making it a comprehensive study tool. Users can choose what, how and when something is read. Just select what you want to read from anywhere on a PDF page and it will read just that selected text - while this is great for conventional text, just imagine the benefit for more complex subjects like math and science!! Click on the "Auto Arrange" feature and PDF Equalizer will automatically arrange the page putting the text into a logical reading order. The "Audio Converter" feature lets you turn any part of a book into an MP3 file. Select the pages you want to listen to and PDF Equalizer will turn each page into its separate MP3 file. Each audio file is linked to a page number, so you create a playlist on your MP3 player for an entire chapter or just a range of pages.

PDF Equalizer also has a built-in "Notes" and "Book marking" features. The Notes are linked and synchronized with exact pages so your notes are automatically in step with the publication. When you are done, you can view all of your notes and save them as a WORD document. PDF Equalizer not only gives you the ability to type your own notes, but it also lets you copy images, charts, equations and chemical formulas from the book (and other sources) into your notes.

As PDF Equalizer's name implies, it makes PDF documents equal in every sense, even to those who cannot read the language of the PDF File. PDF Equalizer also incorporates the concept of self translating Books. PDF Equalizer can translate books on the fly to and from 5 different languages: English, French, Spanish, German, and Portuguese
