With the “Baby Boomer” retirement effect at the very tip of its sourcing impact on Corporate America, Orion International, the nation’s largest military consulting and placement firm, rolls out its 2007 distinguished candidate conference schedule.
Raleigh, NC; Austin, TX (PRWeb) February 28, 2007 -- With the “Baby Boomer” retirement effect at the very tip of its sourcing impact on Corporate America -- and industries such as aviation, steel, and energy/oil and gas losing from 40-50% of their workers in the next 5 years -- the question America’s top companies are asking is this: ‘Where do we find future leaders?’
The answer, to many, becomes more difficult because most current corporate leaders understand that leadership is not easily trained. Companies are learning to live by the “Hire Talent, Train Skills” mantra. This is where Orion International, the nation’s largest military consulting and placement firm, and its corporate post-military hiring model comes into play.
With a candidate pool comprised exclusively of the top 10% of Junior Military Officers and U.S. Armed Forces Service Academy Graduates, Orion International’s Distinguished Candidate Hiring Conference in Dallas, TX on March 12-13th will commence an aggressive post-military hiring push for top tier military candidates throughout 2007.
“Orion is in business for two main reasons. First, we want to be the top provider of military leadership candidates to America's companies. Secondly, we strive to provide our honorable service members with what is in short supply when they exit the service -- we listen, consult and treat them with the honesty and dignity they deserve,” said Orion International President Mike Starich, a former Marine Corps Officer, adding, “In short, we get them the civilian jobs they want to have.”
Orion will introduce to the 20-30 military-friendly employers at each of the four Distinguished Candidate Hiring Conferences throughout 2007 the most highly qualified former military candidates the U.S. military has to offer.
The military job seekers placed in front of employers Monday and Tuesday, March 12-13th will not only have the military background and service that today’s top-tier companies are realizing provides the best attributes of any employee, these pre-screened candidates will also possess Service Academy and other top tier university undergraduate and/or graduate degrees, performance evaluations that far surpass those of their peers, and will be in the top 10% of all junior military officers in terms of their quality, employability and overall competence.
Orion first held the Distinguished Candidate Conference in Dallas, TX in March of 2006, and given the dramatic success of the event – for both candidates and clients alike -- the company then quickly drew up plans for a minimum of five top quality hiring conferences throughout 2007: the firm will host DCCs in San Diego April 16-17, Baltimore May 21-22, and Washington, DC December 3, in addition to two DCCs in Dallas in 2007.
Employers couldn’t be happier with the candidates the DCCs yield, and equally the level of customer service they receive from Orion: “We have evolved from using many junior military officer recruiters to using just Orion,” said Tony Colucci, General Electric’s Consumer and Industrial Products HR manager and military recruiting coordinator, adding, “The quality of candidates from Orion International has been unsurpassed. Orion’s great service and great candidates are an unbeatable combination.”
Candidates see the same type of success from Orion: “When I decided to make the transition to the civilian world, I knew I would need help and decided to enlist the services of several JMO recruiting firms. Orion was the best -- hands down. From my first contact, it was obvious these guys did not view me as merely another number but truly cared about assessing and fulfilling my desires,” said a former U.S. Navy pilot and officer.
The Distinguished Candidate Hiring Conference will take place March 12-13 at the Crowne Plaza Suites, 7800 Alpha Road, Dallas, TX 75240. Companies interested in attending should contact Orion at the number below.
