Rob Fahy to head business development for HTP MedRunner™ healthcare information exchange platform.

Columbus, OH (PRWEB) February 15, 2007 -- HTP, Inc., a leading developer of software for the healthcare industry, announced today that Rob Fahy has joined its management team as director of business development for the HTP MedRunner™ healthcare information exchange (HIE) software platform. Fahy brings more than 15 years of sales and marketing experience in the healthcare industry to HTP.

"We anticipate that Rob's wealth of healthcare industry experience will generate substantial benefits for our customers and our company," said HTP President and CEO Ray Shealy. "His in-depth knowledge of healthcare provider, payer and consumer needs will add momentum to the national adoption of our products and continue to fuel the company's overall success."

His in-depth knowledge of healthcare provider, payer and consumer needs will add momentum to the national adoption of our products and continue to fuel the company's overall success.
Fahy will oversee sales of HTP MedRunner to Regional Health Information Organizations (RHIOs) and HIE organizations across the country. Before joining HTP, he was an enterprise sales executive with Misys Healthcare Systems. The company's acknowledged RHIO expert, he brokered a contract that supported development of one of the first functioning HIE organizations in North Carolina. As a senior account executive with Quovadx, Fahy played an instrumental role in developing sales of Web-based medical management, integration and identity management solutions that today are used to exchange healthcare information throughout the Canadian healthcare system.

"I am excited to join the company that created the nation's first proven RHIO software platform," Fahy said. "HTP MedRunner has field-tested tools to help RHIOs become financially self-sustaining, and these tools hold the key to unlocking the potential of healthcare information exchange to transform the delivery of healthcare at all levels."

HTP developed the software platform that processes all electronic healthcare transactions in the state of Utah through the Utah Health Information Network (UHIN). HTP's collaboration with UHIN progressively led to the development of HTP MedRunner, which is designed to process the exchange of clinical and administrative data between physicians, hospitals, laboratories, health plans and other RHIO stakeholders. Its adoption by UHIN has contributed to holding healthcare costs across the state of Utah to 25 percent below the national average.

Fahy has held key sales and management roles with companies such as Pfizer, Neoforma, PeopleSoft, McKesson Provider Technologies and Perot Systems, Inc. He earned a bachelor's degree in business administration from San Diego State University.
