AMA Supercross and Wicked Lead Respective Categories in month of January.

Chicago, IL (PRWeb) February 20, 2007 - There's no other event experience quite like it. The Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo is the world's largest livestock exhibition and rodeo event, but perhaps the highlight of the three-week festival is the nightly music series held at the 70,000-seat Reliant Park. This year, the 75th anniversary of the event, the superstar lineup includes such big-name acts as George Strait, Toby Keith, Beyoncé, and The Cheetah Girls. With entertainment options like this, it's no wonder the Houston Rodeo led the TicketsNow Entertainment Index Concerts category with a whopping 14.8% of all concert ticket sales in January.

In the Sports category, AMA Supercross distanced itself in the field by claiming the #1 spot for the second-consecutive month with 9.1% of sports ticket sales. With the start of Spring Training and Opening Day on the horizon, the Boston Red Sox finished third in the Sports category with 3.3% of sales--just inching in front of their rivals, the New York Yankees at 3%.

The Broadway hit Wicked was again the top overall performer with 5.6% of all ticket sales in January and 26.7% of theater ticket sales. Trailing the smash hit is Jersey Boys, which garnered nearly 17% of theater sales and 3.6% of total ticket sales.
