New Jersey alternative band, LongRoad, will open for Buckcherry at the Starland Ballroom.
RUTHERFORD, NJ (PRWEB) March 6, 2007 -- New Jersey-based LongRoad will be performing their blend of alternative and rock music at The Starland Ballroom with headliner "Buckcherry" on Saturday, March 10, 2007. LA-based Buckcherry, one of the country's most popular hard rock bands, is on a nationwide tour making the Garden State one of its stops before embarking on a two week European tour.
About LongRoad:
LongRoad is an amalgam of three childhood friends hailing from New Jersey - Peter Fusco (backing vocals, guitars), Tony Mussara (bass, backing vocals) and Dave Rettagliata (drums); with Ted Ames (lead vocals, guitars, harmonica), of Coventry, Vermont.
LongRoad was formed in January 2005 when the other members met Ted Ames at the Knitting Factory in NYC. Band members cite influences ranging from the Rolling Stones, Neil Young and Bob Dylan to Pearl Jam, Stone Temple Pilots, Bon Jovi and Metallica. LongRoad has been gaining significant popularity since they started hitting the club scene in July 2006. One of their first shows was opening at the Starland for the well known Seattle band Candlebox. LongRoad has also played some of the most popular venues in and around New York City, Pennsylvania and New Jersey with more shows planned reaching New England and extending to Washington, DC and the Virginia area.
In September 2006, LongRoad started receiving college radio play, charting at several universities across the nation and having more than 7 of its songs played on more than 140 college radio stations nationwide.
In late February 2007, LongRoad launched a commercial radio campaign, garnering even more fans of the tracks from their debut CD, "This Too Shall Pass". This Too Shall Pass dropped in July 2006. "The songs are the product of living our lives," says singer Ted Ames, "they are an honest mix of storytelling and emotion based upon our experience and observation in and of the world around us." From the anthemic and rebellious Low Ground, to the "never-have regret" underlying the upbeat Somebody's Princess, to the forlorn feeling of loss painted in lyric in Home, the band's work is ringing true with its fans and critics alike. A new CD is in production and will drop later this year.
