SOX Institute expands beyond "just Sarbanes-Oxley" and into the broader spectrum of Corporate Governance, Risk Management and Regulatory Compliance as GRC Institute.

New York, NY (PRWEB) March 8, 2007 -- SOX Institute expands beyond "just Sarbanes-Oxley" and into the broader spectrum of Corporate Governance, Risk Management and Regulatory Compliance as GRC Institute. It will also be raising the bar on the requirements to attain the well recognized CSOX credential starting April 1, 2007 through both self-study as well as classroom education.

In a highly anticipated move, SOX Institute will be revamping its research, education and certification programs to include the broader spectrum of GRC (Governance, Risk and Compliance). This move comes less than four years since its inception in 2003, and is a testament to the fact that the industry is now looking at SOX vis-à-vis other regulations.

According to company officials, GRC Institute will continue to retain the well-recognized SOX Institute brand and corresponding CSOX and CSOXP® certifications, while at the same time introducing new education and certification programs in Governance, Risk Management and Regulatory Compliance, as well as in IT Governance and Compliance.

Our philosophy has always been to serve our marketplace as best as we can and do, and our market is now asking more from us as an organization. We are stepping up to the task and we are committing to deliver with the same focus on quality and relevance as we did with all our service offerings prior to this," said Sanjay Anand, Chairperson of the Board.

The new certifications being introduced in collaboration with other reputable institutes/ organizations include CGRC (Certified in Governance, Risk, Compliance), CITC and CITG (Certified in IT Compliance and Governance, respectively). The bar is also being raised on the CSOX (Certified in Sarbanes-Oxley) credential starting April 2007.
