A self-contained, industrial-strength router, the 4310 SkyRouter provides secure IP network connectivity in applications where the combination of broadband performance and rock-solid security is an absolute requirement. "Wireless data communications have competed very favorably with wire line solutions on cost," says Ctek President William Buchan. "The enhanced speed of EV-DO, now also makes throughput comparable. However, securing the wireless connection has until now held back the acceptance of wireless technology as a wire line replacement. In addition to broadband performance, the 4310 SkyRouter also supports Assisted Global Positioning (A-GPS), a network positioning technology widely deployed for wireless E9-1-1. A-GPS employs the power of the wireless network to provide precise positioning even in environments such as urban canyons and parking garages where conventional GPS would be unreliable. The integration of A-GPS and secure broadband wireless data makes this SkyRouter the ideal platform to address applications such as mobile service trucks, emergency vehicles, and fleet management.
A key component of the SkyRouter value proposition is Ctek's unique TCO Plus, developed to reduce on-going operational costs associated with industrial IP networks.
