Musical Group 'Dancing on Strings' to Host Benefit Concert and Auction in Support of Camp Unalayee's Campership Program

The Camp Unalayee benefit concert will help youth from low-income families continue to share in a wilderness backpacking adventure in the pristine Trinity Alps. The $20 event tickets will include hors d'oervres, beverages and dessert. There will also be silent and live auctions, a raffle and short multi-media presentation about Camp Unalayee. All money raised will support the camp's Campership Program and help dozens of low-income youth experience the joys of summer camp.

(PRWeb) March 29, 2007 -- Come One, Come All to hear a live concert performed for the benefit of Camp Unalayee by local trio Dancing On Strings.

Your attendance will help youth from low-income families continue to share in a wilderness backpacking adventure in the pristine Trinity Alps.

Tickets will include hors d'oervres, beverages and dessert. There will also be silent and live auctions, a raffle and short multi-media presentation about Camp Unalayee.

When: Saturday, May 5th, 2007, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.

Why: To enable deserving boys and girls to share in an adventure of a lifetime.

Where: Quaker Meeting House, 225 Rooney Street, Santa Cruz, CA 95065

Directions: The building is on the north end of the Morrisey exit on Highway 1, off the frontage road. However, the Morrisey southbound exit ramp is currently closed. If driving south on Highway 17, take Ocean Street exit, make a left on Soquel Drive, make a left on Morrisey, cross over the freeway and turn left onto Rooney.

Suggested donation: $20. All ages are welcome. Tickets will be available at the door. Camp Unalayee is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization.

About Camp Unalayee
Camp Unalayee (Camp U), meaning "Place of Friends" in Cherokee, is an accredited summer camp for girls and boys ages 10 through 17. Located in Northern California in the beautiful Trinity Alps wilderness, Camp U provides a unique outdoors experience during two-week sessions where kids completely disconnect from iPods, video games and the internet and learn to connect with nature and the surrounding wilderness. A one-week family session is also offered at the end of August. For 57 years, the camp has provided kids with self-esteem, social values and a love for the environment.
