Yucaipa, CA (PRWeb) March 30, 2007 -- The Concrete Network, the most comprehensive resource on the web for decorative concrete information, has produced two new pieces in its decorative concrete artwork series, showcasing the artistry evolving in the decorative concrete industry. The oil paintings exhibit the evolution and advancements of artistic work being created by decorative concrete artisans through decorative concrete applications and techniques.

Nothing is hotter than decorative concrete. This issue is sure to capture your undivided attention by offing the latest tips, techniques, and innovations in decorative concrete floors, countertops, coloring methods and more.
Created by Katy Betz, a fine artist commissioned by The Concrete Network, the third piece in the series portrays the increasing popularity and interest in decorative concrete technology and applications. In the painting, "Hot Stuff," a beautiful young blonde lifts weights, while in the background, a young man intrigued by his decorative concrete magazine, pays no attention to the beautiful figure in front of him. Created exclusively as cover art for Concrete Expressions magazine, Ms. Betz's description of the painting explains her unique perspective:

"Nothing is hotter than decorative concrete. This issue is sure to capture your undivided attention by offing the latest tips, techniques, and innovations in decorative concrete floors, countertops, coloring methods and more."

The fourth piece in the series, "World's First Showroom," portrays the history of the decorative concrete showroom. In the painting, a man and his wife, from a past time period, carefully examine the samples of stamped concrete provided by an eager concrete artisan in his showroom. Ms. Betz's description of the painting explains her unique perspective:

"Concrete and art have been around for ages. And when the two merge, as they do in today's decorative concrete, the result is a modern-day twist inspired by ancient influences. We've used our imagination to depict what the world's first decorative concrete showroom might have looked like, with our ancestors displaying impressive sample boards of their earliest creations. Decorative concrete is indeed timeless, and continues to improve with age and ingenuity."

These paintings are the first-of-their-kind, and are part of a series of decorative concrete artwork being produced by Ms. Betz. Each issue of Concrete Expressions, the official magazine of The Concrete Network, unveils a new piece in the series. See the first paintings in the series.

Katy Betz is an award-winning fine artist, and a graduate of Laguna College of Art and Design in Laguna Beach, Calif. She has traveled throughout Europe to study the masters of art and architecture.
