In times past, Chinese hopefuls flocked to the gold rush of California, and those who settled in San Francisco dubbed the city “Gold Mountain.” Now the tables have turned: American companies are flocking to the business opportunities of China. Jihong Sanderson, a leading expert in globalization, technology management, and innovation for China, will help companies navigate — and thrive in — the complex cultural waters of China.

Walnut Creek, Calif. (PRWeb) March 30, 2007 -- In times past, Chinese hopefuls flocked to the gold rush of California, and those who settled in San Francisco dubbed the city “Gold Mountain.” Now the tables have turned: American companies are flocking to the business opportunities of China. Jihong Sanderson, a leading expert in globalization, technology management, and innovation for China, will help companies navigate — and thrive in — the complex cultural waters of China.

As someone who has succeeded in both cultures, her experience and expertise will bring real value to those considering doing business in China.
Ms. Sanderson is one of two keynoters scheduled to speak at Making China Your ‘Gold Mountain’ – a new conference and exposition in South San Francisco on May 23-25. The conference will be hosted by XMei International, a business consulting and development organization with expertise in Chinese business practices and their cultural impact. The conference is the first event in the U.S. with influential Chinese HR executives and business leaders from multinational companies, private Chinese companies, Chinese consulting firms and the government.

Ms. Sanderson is the founder and executive director of the Center for Research on Chinese & American Strategic Cooperation at U.C. Berkeley. Drawing on her personal experience, Ms. Sanderson will examine the skill sets China is seeking, the personality needed to be successful in China, and the challenges of working in an environment widely divergent from that of the West.

“It’s an honor to have a professional of Ms. Sanderson’s stature speaking at our conference,” said Xioali Mei, president and founder of XMei International. “As someone who has succeeded in both cultures, her experience and expertise will bring real value to those considering doing business in China.”
