PR News has launched the online Digital PR Report tailored to communications professionals seeking to leverage Web 2.0 to build brands and reputation.

Rockville, MD (PRWeb) March 15, 2007 -- PR News and industry partner Medialink Worldwide Incorporated (Nasdaq: MDLK), a global media services company, have launched a one-of-a-kind microsite dedicated to providing PR professionals with communications strategies surrounding Web 2.0, from video-based PR campaigns to leveraging brands within online communities.

The Digital PR Report, a publication of industry leader PR News, is an online PR portal that will explain complicated issues surrounding new media platforms and offer strategies and tactics for communicating and managing reputation online.

By combining the power of PR News' robust platform and Medialink's unmatched reputation in digital media production and distribution, we are creating a unique online community where communications professionals may obtain and share information required to master Web 2.0 trends and techniques.
The launch of the PR News' Digital PR Report, at http://www.prnewsonline.com/digitalpr, includes how-to articles, opinion pieces, case studies and more written by PR News' editorial staff and other key thought leaders in communications and online media. A sample of articles on the Digital PR Report include:

  • Communicating In An Alternate Reality: Second Life Paves Way
  • Score Online PR Success with Video
  • How To Manage Media Relations When The 'Journalist' Is A Blogger
  • Creating a Social Media News Release

"The Digital PR Report is responding to a PR community that is hungry for information on how to better leverage their brands and reputations in the increasingly confusing Web 2.0," says Diane Schwartz, VP and Group Publisher of PR News. "We're excited to be working with our partner, Medialink, to provide communications professionals with the most reliable information on this critical topic."

Counting Fortune 500 companies and leading public relations and public affairs firms among its 1,000 clients, Medialink taps into its two decades-long experience as a global producer and distributor of PR and marketing video and audio to help educate professional communicators on how current broadcast and broadband media can be harnessed for targeted and relevant audience impact. Applications for Web video; digital newsrooms and archives; social media; viral and search engine marketing, and mobile communications are among the many that will be explained in the form of case studies, white papers and interactive forums.

"As audiences seek more relevance and greater control in their media consumption, Medialink is empowering public relations professionals to appreciate their modern roles as content providers and publishers in a what is rapidly becoming a disintermediated world," said Mary C. Buhay, senior vice president of corporate communications for Medialink. "By combining the power of PR News' robust platform and Medialink's unmatched reputation in digital media production and distribution, we are creating a unique online community where communications professionals may obtain and share information required to master Web 2.0 trends and techniques."

The Digital PR Report will be updated regularly with how-to articles, research snapshots, white papers, best practices articles, video case studies and more.
