Seattle (PRWeb) March 20, 2007 -- Document Command (www.documentcommand.com) has named two new members to its board of directors - Christopher Shilakes, a General Partner at Blueshift Venture Advisors, and Karen Northup, CEO of Corefino, Inc. Document Command's Remote Control Mail™ service (www.RemoteControlMail.com) allows people to access their postal mail online, from anywhere in the world.

Chris Shilakes is a General Partner at Blueshift Venture Advisors and the designated board representative for the company's newest and largest investor group, Keiretsu Forum. Prior to Blueshift, Chris was a First Vice President with Merrill Lynch Equity Research in San Francisco, where he headed the Global Enterprise Software Research Team for 10 years. While at Merrill Lynch, he was named to the Institutional Investor Magazine All-Star Research Team for six consecutive years for his coverage of the enterprise software industry, including Microsoft, Oracle, and Computer Associates. In addition, Chris was instrumental in bringing emerging software companies to the public markets, providing research coverage for more than 20 IPOs and secondary offerings, including MicroStrategy, e.Piphany, and WebMethods. In the early 1990s, Chris worked at Oracle Corporation to position the company's turnaround for the financial community, and in the late 1980s he was an analyst on Alex Brown & Sons' technology research team. Chris graduated magna cum laude with an AB in Economics from Princeton University.

Given our ambitious global expansion initiatives and our many interactions with both customers and strategic partners in the Fortune 1000, we are very fortunate to have such senior expertise from the financial community join our board at this relatively early stage
Karen Northup is Founder and CEO of Corefino, Inc., a finance and accounting outsourcer (FAO), and a strategic channel partner for Document Command. Prior to founding Corefino, she served as CFO for several successful venture-backed technology companies, including Scout Media, Telesuite, Inc., Rivals.com, Inc., and Telocity (now DirectTV). Earlier, Karen held positions at GlobalCenter (now Global Crossing) and Coopers & Lybrand. Previously she worked for Coopers & Lybrand focusing on early stage and non-profit companies. Karen is a CPA and a CMA (Certified Management Accountant). She graduated magna cum laude from Arizona State University with a BA in accounting.

"Given our ambitious global expansion initiatives and our many interactions with both customers and strategic partners in the Fortune 1000, we are very fortunate to have such senior expertise from the financial community join our board at this relatively early stage," said Ron Wiener, Founder and CEO of Document Command. "In this age of corporate governance, it is never too early to employ best practices at the board level. It is also extremely beneficial to understand how one's business intersects with major trends and industries globally. Shilakes and Northup both bring tremendous experience and insight in these areas which will help us to build a solid foundation for financial governance and to advance more quickly as an enterprise," added Wiener.

Northup and Shilakes join existing board members: Chris Kwak (Chairman), a senior Wall Street equity research analyst and Co-Founder and Partner at 2K Advisors LLC; Ron Wiener, Founder and CEO of Document Command, Inc.; and Dr. Kenneth Lynn, former Assistant Postmaster General, Logistics, of the United States Postal Service.

Remote Control Mail™ service gives customers ranging from road warriors and RVers to mobile workers and accounting departments online access to their postal mail, from anywhere in the world, at any time. Remote Control Mail™ receives the mail each day, scans the outside of the sealed envelopes and presents this image to the customer online. The customer then determines whether to have the mail opened and scanned, shredded, recycled, transferred elsewhere, or forward-shipped. Much as people manage their mobile phones and emails - the system is convenient, fast, and cost-effective. Mail addressed to specific departments or account numbers can also be automatically opened and scanned, as in the case of remittance processing where checks are extracted and electronically deposited for real-time access to funds.
