New Military History Book Honors Those Who Fought and Died on the Western Front in France and Flanders

Author B. Cory Kilvert, Jr. examines the lives of British soldiers during WWI in "Comrades in Courage: The British Army in France and Flanders, 1914-1918."

Peterborough, N.H. (PRWEB) April 8, 2007 -- Author B. Cory Kilvert, Jr. presents a chronological collection of WWI events as seen through the eyes of British soldiers and the officers who commanded them in "Comrades in Courage, The British Army in France and Flanders, 1914-1918."

In his book, Kilvert details the daily activities experienced by these soldiers and highlights their regimental pride, tremendous courage, strength of spirit, and attitudes toward the war. Furthermore, he expertly describes the battles and bloodshed that took place while recounting the bravery -- not only of British soldiers but also French, American, and German forces.

Having grown up with a father who served in WWI, Kilvert said he has been entranced by war stories since childhood and has much respect and admiration for men and women who serve their country in the military. Nevertheless, he said he conveys a powerful message that war, in all its forms, is a catastrophe for everyone forced to participate in one. Through his writing, Kilvert said he asserts that the reality of so many innocent people required to fight for causes they didn't fully understand remains one of the world's primary examples of human nature at its worst.

Regardless of readers' opinions of war, Kilvert said "Comrades in Courage: The British Army in France and Flanders, 1914-1918," is an informative and moving testament to the heroism of British soldiers during WWI.
