The National Association of MInority and Women Owned Law Firms is focusing upon the use of minority and women-owned law firms by the insurance industry, especially with regard to panel counsel lists. NAMWOLF will be working to increase opportunities for these firms to compete for legal work.
The anecdotal evidence we have amassed to date strongly suggests that women and minority-owned law firms are underrepresented on many insurance companies' panel counsel lists

Milwaukee, WI (PRWeb) April 10, 2007 -- The National Association of Minority and Women Owned Law Firms (NAMWOLF) announced today that it has launched a new initiative designed to enhance opportunities for minority and women-owned law firms to compete for legal work from insurance companies throughout the United States. NAMWOLF will be working to make the insurance industry more aware of the tremendous talent housed within minority and women-owned law firms. In using these firms, the insurance industry and their clients will benefit from excellent and cost-effective representation.

"The anecdotal evidence we have amassed to date strongly suggests that women and minority-owned law firms are underrepresented on many insurance companies' panel counsel lists," said Yolanda Coly, NAMWOLF's Associate Director. "The insurance industry spends billions of dollars on outside counsel services each year. NAMWOLF is spearheading an initiative to assist minority and women-owned law firms in obtaining a full and fair opportunity to compete for assignments from America's insurance companies. We are confident that once women and minority-owned law firms have access to these assignments, the amount of legal work awarded to those firms will increase appreciably."

The National Association of Minority & Women Owned Law Firms (www.namwolf.org) was founded in July, 2001. It is a national trade association comprised of a select group of minority and women-owned law firms who exhibit excellence in the legal profession. The primary aim of the organization is to increase diversity within the legal profession by advocating for the retention of minority and women owned law firms by businesses and entities through a national network of preeminent firms.
