Min Announces the 'Sweet 16' Agency Execs & Brand Marketers; Special Event Set for April 19

Sixteen corporate brand marketers and advertising agency executives have been named by Media Industry Newsletter (min) as the 2007 "Sweet 16," the annual short list of top media executives who champion and highly value magazine brands. The Sweet 16 are profiled in this month's min's Advertising Report and will be saluted at a special reception on April 19 during the sold-out min day Summit in Manhattan.

The Sweet 16 are profiled in this month's min's Advertising Report and will be saluted at a special reception on April 19 during the sold-out min day Summit in Manhattan.

Among the Sweet 16 are industry luminaries such as Brenda White, vp and director of print investment at Starcom; Jeff Bell, corporate vp of global marketing at Microsoft; and Curtis Smith, media director at GlaxoSmithKline. Each of the 16 offers a unique take on magazines, and share the belief that magazine brands are uniquely adept at engaging their audiences. Maggie Knoll, print director and senior partner at MindShare describes magazines in the "Sweet 16" issue of min's Advertising Report as "the inspirational medium."

The Sweet 16 celebration includes the special issue featuring provocative profiles of the 16 executives and is capped by the April 19th reception at the New York Grand Hyatt, with platinum sponsor TV Guide.

Integrated marketing programs that includes smart ways to engage with a magazine's targeted audience are on the top of the wish list for the Sweet 16 profiled by min editorial director Peggy Cope. "Making the connection is what it's all about, whether the link is between consumers and magazine brands or companies and elusive partners," writes Cope in the special issue.
