New Website for Hyline Safety Company Designed to Expedite Building Safety Code Compliance

Following the attacks on the World Trade Center on September 11, 2001, a building code task force was formed to review building design and operating requirements in New York City high rise buildings. The task force's goal was to determine if new regulations could improve public safety and its findings led to a building code revision that required photo-luminescent markings to be installed in many buildings. Hyline Safety Company, a New York City-based safety supply business, is now leading the charge to help building owners purchase and install photo-luminescent safety signs with the aid of its redesigned website.

(PRWeb) April 12, 2007 -- The New York City-based safety supply business Hyline Safety Company has completely redesigned its website to make it faster and easier for New York building owners to comply with the revised building code which orders that structures taller than 75 feet must be outfitted with photo-luminescent markings to indicate exit routes.

Hyline Safety Company is presently devoting energies into meeting the needs of commercial property owners and managers to enable them to comply with new amendments to New York City Local Law 26 of 2004.
The redesigned site also features an organized online catalog for all other building safety equipment and signage such as entrance, exit, restricted area and wet floor signs. The company's product offerings include more than 4000 unique building and facility safety products.

Hyline Safety Company owner and CEO Evan Lipstein, a leading authority on photo-luminescent safety guidance systems, says the website redesign is key to providing the best opportunity for building owners to maintain the safest facilities possible.

"Hyline is dedicated to providing the highest quality building safety products and life safety products available," Lipstein adds. "Hyline Safety Company is presently devoting energies into meeting the needs of commercial property owners and managers to enable them to comply with new amendments to New York City Local Law 26 of 2004."

The revised building code came about as a result of the World Trade Center Building Code Task Force's findings that the clarity of emergency exit paths was essential to successful evacuations. Photo-luminescent glow in the dark signs are now required in all high rise buildings. This code was enforced as of July 1, 2006, and all commercial buildings in New York City taller than 75 feet must meet the conditions before being issued occupancy permits.

Photo-luminescent glow in the dark signs are clearly readable in darkness and in the presence of thick smoke, making them a reliable choice for evacuation guidance during power outages and fires.

Hyline Safety Company stocks a number of other recommended products to ensure safe evacuations. Their economical emergency lighting solutions include Lumenlite Light Sleeves which are thin, transparent sleeves that slip over fluorescent light tubes and charge while the lights are on, emitting a bright glow when the lights are off. The company also carries a line of evacuation safety chairs for people with limited mobility to be evacuated. Hyline Safety Company has also recently added the Safe Life Respirator to its inventory. This disposable facemask made by Safe Life Corporation is 99.99% effective against airborne viruses, such as avian flu.
