Military Novel Set During Iranian Hostage Crisis Explores Demands and Honors of Patriotism

Gonzo Station, a new book by Fernando Ochoa, rings true to the sacrifices made by military service people and their families throughout America's present and history of war

Ceres, California (PRWeb) April 15, 2007 -- The Iranian Hostage Crisis is brought to life in Gonzo Station, a new novel by Fernando Ochoa. Told through the eyes of a young American sailor, this coming of age story tackles sex, drugs, and racism as well as the internal and external struggles of patriotism.

Inspired by Ernest Hemingway and Norman Mailer, Gonzo Station reflects Ochoa's personal experience in the Navy, which lends credence to this tribute to the strength of the American spirit. Ochoa writes with honesty while also paying homage to the sacrifice of American military servicemen and women throughout history.

Gonzo Station not only brings to light the extreme pressure active military life adds to the everyday struggles of those enlisted, it honors the American tradition of being the "good guys" who strive to maintain peace, justice, and a universal sense of right and wrong.
