Come join Joa Crowder, a board-certified acupuncturist with a four-year masters degree in Traditional Chinese Medicine and a BA from the University of Washington. Crowder will discuss the value of acupuncture as part of a comprehensive cancer treatment plan, and the benefits of acupuncture to cancer patients including reducing pain and helping with chemotherapy-induced nausea.

Yakima, WA (PRWEB) April 21, 2007 -- Patients and their physicians are increasingly looking to complementary medicinal treatments to support traditional medical cancer care. North Star Lodge patients may access information on integrative care options through their physicians, the Stepping Stones Resource Library and Learn at Lunch workshops that address topics that are relevant to cancer patients, caregivers and the community.

"Many cancer patients benefit from combined treatment with conventional Western medicine integrated with healing techniques of Eastern and other traditional philosophies. Acupuncture is an increasingly popular and respected modality, enhancing overall health and well-being while relieving a variety of symptoms and side effects related to cancer," says Maria Jorgensen, MD, PhD, complementary medicine medical director at North Star Lodge.
