UCLA Extension Conference Explores Today's Urban Renaissance

The Renaissance of Urban Development, a special one-day conference offered by UCLA Extension, explores key issues affecting urban development today. The May 11 conference features expert speakers and panelists from industry and academia discussing topics from green design to ongoing demographic shifts to Los Angeles' unique style of urbanism.

Climate Change and Energy: A Weather Report for Urban Planning;
Building Green: Where Do We Go From Here? and the keynote presentation,
A New Chapter in Demographic Shifts and What It Means to Our Vision of Community, presented by Sandra Rosenbloom, Professor of Planning, University of Arizona.

Other speakers and panelists include author and New America Foundation Irvine Senior Fellow Joel Kotkin, UCLA Institute of the Environment Director Mary D. Nichols, Pasadena Mayor Bill Bogaard, Riverside Mayor Ronald O. Loveridge and The City Project Executive Director Robert Garcia.
