Authors Michael and Beth Hofer demonstrate how everyday activities can be a colorful adventure in Abigail the Snail and Her Purple Sock.
Sebastian, FL (PRWEB) April 22, 2007 -- Abigail the Snail and Her Purple Sock, by experienced teachers Michael and Beth Hofer, is an exciting story that will help children discover life's little triumphs.
The book's main character, a lovable snail called Abigail, provides wholesome entertainment and sets a wonderful example for children of all ages. Throughout the story, she exercises perseverance and creative thinking and eventually shows readers that determination will pay off.
The Hofers' book teaches word acquisition through the use of phonemic awareness, word families, and rhyme. The simple yet bold illustrations provide excellent visual cues to help beginning readers, and children will delight in their ability to retell Abigail's story. Educational and amusing, Abigail the Snail and Her Purple Sock is destined to become a childhood favorite.
The idea for Abigail the Snail and Her Purple Sock came from a simple rhyming game the authors played with their daughter; in fact, their daughter happens to be the namesake of the endearing little snail. Both the authors and the illustrator have dedicated themselves to helping children pursue their dreams, and ultimately they decided that the best way to accomplish that is to lead by example.
