Analisa O'Rullian's 11th Hour Miracles! is a unique story that allows readers to consider the value of spiritual strength as a means for facing life's challenges.
Los Angeles, CA (PRWEB) April 22, 2007 -- Leukemia and bone marrow transplant survivor Analisa O'Rullian's new book, 11th Hour Miracles, provides an inspiring message of hope for anyone suffering from life-threatening challenges.
Just when the author's dreams of starting a family were crushed, she was also diagnosed with leukemia and in need of a bone marrow transplant. Her only hope for survival was receiving marrow from her missionary brother living 3,000 miles away in Peru. Upon learning that the transplant required lethal dosages of radiation and chemotherapy to wipe out her immune system, thus creating a "physical holocaust" on her body, O'Rullian realized that it would take a miracle to survive.
The author was distressed to learn that there were no books on the market to offer hope that survival was possible--let alone one written from a patient's point of view. Determined to survive, O'Rullian resolved to document each phase of her journey.
In her book, O'Rullian shares the amazing events leading to her brother's miraculous blood match, the grueling regiment that tests her far beyond her expectations, and the triumphs that finally lead to a full and complete recovery. She reveals how faith, love, and the medical staff at UCLA hospital really did bring about eleventh hour miracles. O'Rullian also includes a survivor's tip list for prospective patients.
"For her, surviving did not just involve faith; it was dependent on faith…an approach to illness that sets her account far apart from similar ones." - New York Times best-selling author Ellen Tanner Marsh
Stephen D. Nimer, M.D., Memorial Sloan-Kettering, New York, sums it up, "Doctors can always learn by listening to their patients. Analisa shows her perspective as a patient, wife, mother and child. It is a moving experience that will help others understand what we transplant doctors see every day, namely the extraordinary strength of the human spirit."
"It's truly an inspiring story!" says Richard Champlin, M.D., MD Anderson Cancer Center, Texas.
