Mosby's Nursing CE and MC Strategies Announce New Course

Download this press release as an Adobe PDF document.

MC Strategies, a leader in web-based learning solutions for healthcare professionals, has released Standards-Based Nursing, a unique continuing education program developed for staff nurses and nurse managers.

This online program was developed from a solid organizational framework with JCAHO standards serving as the foundation; and professional nursing practice standards including the American Nurses Association, American Association of Critical Care Nurses, and Oncology Nursing Society, completing the framework.

The Standards-Based Nursing Program is a comprehensive suite of more than 100 lessons that are authored and peer reviewed by nurse experts. This unique program offers nurses the opportunity to earn more than 150 contact hours*. To engage the learner, the lessons include a wealth of multimedia elements, such as animations and video clips to test the learner's knowledge, interactive exercises, such as sequencing, drag-and-drop labeling, and matching, are interwoven throughout the lessons.

"The lessons focus on 'need-to-know' information that is essential to safe, quality nursing care and management. Each lesson is mapped to one or more JCAHO standards, and is therefore applicable to all nurses in a hospital setting, regardless of specialty. No other online nursing CE product takes this approach," said Eileen Robinson, RN, MSN, Director of Nursing Continuing Education at Elsevier. MC Strategies is a part of Elsevier's Health Sciences division.

Standards-based Nursing is delivered by MC Strategies' dynamic Knowledge Deployment System® (KDS). The KDS learning management system records, tracks and reports e-learning activity throughout your organization and was developed specifically to bring interactive e-learning solutions to hospitals.
