Open Source to be Featured at Upcoming DIA Annual Meeting

The Drug Information Association's 43rd Annual Meeting June 17-21, in Atlanta, GA, will feature a panel titled 'Open Source Software in GCP-Compliant Environments'. This panel will explore how institutions are looking towards open source for more transparent, standards-based systems to meet challenges of flexibility, interoperability, and cost in clinical trials.

Boston, MA (PRWEB) April 26, 2007 -- Akaza Research CEO Cal Collins will be leading a panel of open source software experts at the Drug Information Association's 43rd Annual Meeting June 17-21, in Atlanta, GA. The panel, titled 'Utilizing Open Source Software in GCP-Compliant Environments', will explore how institutions are looking towards open source for more transparent, standards-based systems to meet challenges of flexibility, interoperability, and cost in clinical trials. It will focus on how the collaborative open source model can be employed to meet these needs and at the same time produce robust, GCP-compliant products.

The panel will include Dr. Mark Adams of Booz Allen Hamilton and Project Manager for NCI's Cancer Biomedical Informatics Grid (caBIG) and Mark Paul, CEO of StatWorks, Inc. The panel will be held on June 19th at 8:00AM.
