ATAGO Outperforms the Competition

ATAGO ranked very highly in a recent third-party independent study for testing fire retardant foam. ATAGO is proud to announce that the same model that was so well-received, the PAL-1, is available for measuring almost any liquid sample in any Quality Control environment.

Bellevue, WA (PRWeb) May 4, 2007 -- In a recent study by the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA), seven refractometers were assessed to determine their effectiveness for measuring the amount of salt in a sample of wild land fire retardant. A refractometer can give an idea of the effectiveness of the product as well as determine the density of the retardant, which is crucial to knowing the weight of an air tanker after it has been loaded. The ATAGO PAL-1 received very high ratings from all evaluators.

ATAGO refractometers have long held a reputation of quality, durability, and accuracy with end-users in a wide range of different industries. Whether sampling fruit juice concentrate or glycol for antifreeze, an ATAGO refractometer can be counted on to offer the assurance of a repeatable measurement.

ATAGO released the PAL-series in 2003, introducing the first hand-held digital refractometer, and the PAL-1 has been a bestseller ever since. This refractometer is small enough to fit in a pocket, but has an abundance of features designed to enhance accuracy and convenience.

- Digital LCD measurement display. Eliminates user interpretation!
- Light & Compact. Ergonomically designed for one-handed operation.
- Fast & Easy measurements. Simply place the sample on the prism and press start. Measured value displayed in 3 seconds.
- IP65 Protection Class. The PAL-1 can be rinsed under running water for easy clean-up.
- Automatic Temperature Compensation (ATC). Eliminates the need for a temperature conversion table.
- High temperature samples (10 to 75 °C) can be measured.
- External Light Interference (ELI) allows measurements to be taken with confidence, even in direct sunlight.
- Simple zero-setting, with water only. No need for calibration liquids

Since its release, the PAL-series has been recognized for its excellence in design and function as the recipient of

Good Design Award, 2003
Venture Technology Award for Excellence, 2004
Technology for Food Industry Award, 2005

In the USDA study, the refractometers tested were rated and judged on their ease of use, ease of cleaning, ease of reading and overall utility. The evaluators also compared accuracy and repeatability when measuring four different concentrations of three different retardants (unthickened, low-viscosity thickened, and high-viscosity thickened retardants). The PAL-1 measured all of the various samples well.

When shopping for a digital refractometer, make the clear choice. ATAGO outperforms. The competition just does not measure up.

The digital 'Pocket' PAL is also available in 80 different special scales with impressive ranges, convenient features, affordable pricing, and accuracy that can be counted on time after time.
