"Video Sign Language by the Class"

(PRWeb) May 4, 2007 -- Lifelinks Education LLC (www.lifelinks.net) introduces remote video sign language to the classroom with record/playback availability.

For the first time, Lifelinks Education LLC, the most innovative, cutting edge, video remote sign language interpreting company, introduces sign language into the classroom (university, high school, etc.) using a mobile laptop, Mac or PC with replay of the interpreting session at home. Thus, the deaf or hard of hearing student can review missed material in the privacy and convenience of her/his home. Lifelinks Education LLC makes this service available on a per minute basis, or "by the class," with no minimum fee, no contractual obligation or lease of expensive equipment.

Video Sign Language by the Class
Previously, students in school required a live sign language interpreter who would accompany them to each class. Colleges and Universities pay for the interpreter's time both during and between classes at a rate averaging $60 an hour (including lunch hour). Heretofore, if a deaf or hard of hearing student had a fifty minute class starting at 9 am, 11 am and 2 pm, the university paid for 5 hours and 50 minutes (9am-2:50 pm plus travel time to and fro). Cost: 6 hours X $60=$360+travel. With Lifelinks Educational Tutors the cost is 50 minutes X 3 classes X $2 a minute= $300. Other advantages besides cost: If the school's sign language interpreter becomes ill at the last moment, the school may not be able to obtain a replacement, whereas Lifelinks, with hundreds of interpreters, never lets you down. Weather- related transportation delays of an on site interpreter are never an excuse for Lifelinks. Lifelinks Education sign language interpreters are always available -- no excuses!

Lifelinks also offers the ability to record the sign language interpreter so that the deaf or hard-of-hearing student can review the material at home. It is difficult enough to watch the sign language interpreter and the teacher simultaneously, and take notes-in fact, it is otherwise impossible. Lifelinks has the answer!

The service is also available for foreign languages: Arabic, French, Italian, Chinese, Slavic languages, Korean, German, Hebrew, Urdu, Hindi, Albanian, Armenian, Cantonese, Croatian, Farsi, French Canadian, French Creole, Hindi, Japanese, Mandarin, Polish, Portuguese, Punjabi, Romanian, Samoan, Somali, Swahili, Tagalong, Turkish, Ukrainian and Vietnamese.
