In January, 2007, Phyto-Source's plant capacity was successfully increased by over forty percent to meet the increased demand for the company's cholesterol-lowering food ingredient, Phyto-S-Sterol™. Further process debottlenecking initiatives, technology improvements, and capital additions have resulted in an additional thirty percent capacity increase. The plant's total output is now rated at 3,000 metric tons per year.

Bill Sonnier, President and CEO of Chusei (U.S.A.) and Manager of Phyto-Source, notes that "this recent expansion of our ability to produce high quality phytosterols is the second step in our goal to significantly increase our production volume and capabilities.
