Ciscare Announces Successful Completion of Student Work at University of Nebraska in the J.D. Edwards Honors Program

Students from University of Nebraska-Lincoln gained valuable real world experience.

Lincoln and Omaha, NE (PRWEB) May 19, 2007 -- Ciscare, Inc., which specializes in the application of mobile devices and intuitive user-interfaces designed to streamline physician workflow, has announced the completion of work being done by students in the J. D. Edwards Honors Program at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. The program allowed upper-level students in the honors program to gain invaluable experience working on real-world projects. In addition, Ciscare sent participating students to HIMSS this February to help them gain more healthcare industry experience.

The Honors Program is an advanced curriculum for IT and management education. Ciscare's project, a collaboration with the university on the Mobile Electronic Provider Ordering (MEPO) system, was selected for the Design Studio Project from a slate of competitors for the 2006-2007 academic year. MEPO is an innovative solution for mobile computerized physician order entry that allows physicians and other healthcare providers to quickly and efficiently input their most common orders with just a tap or two on their handheld screens.

"This group of students gained remarkable experience by working on this project and attending HIMSS where they learned from a variety of healthcare professionals," remarked Samuel Caughron, MD, President and CEO of Ciscare. "Collaborating on the project and interacting with healthcare professionals gave them real-world experience beyond what can be taught in the classroom."

Ciscare, Inc. specializes in the application of mobile devices and intuitive user-interfaces designed to streamline physician workflow. Ciscare's LARA platform works with a wide array of devices and allows healthcare providers to focus on the efficient, safe and timely management of patients by putting critical information literally at their fingertips in real-time. LARA Mobile, Ciscare's flagship product, has a proven track record of reducing the IT resources required in patient care areas while improving patient safety and physician satisfaction with hospital IT.

LARA Mobile exceeds HIPAA requirements and is the established leader in security for handheld systems. Other Ciscare products include LARA Desktop and in development are LARA Mobile Order Entry and LARA Mobile Charge Capture. For more information visit www.ciscare.com or call (888) 400-5272.
