Time Capsules to Television's Past: Videomercials Redesigns Web Site, Making it Easier to Search Commercials from TV History

The newly redesigned web site of Videomercials makes it easier to search for DVD and VHS volumes of over 10,500 commercials from television history.

Tampa, FL (PRWEB) May 25, 2007 -- Videomercials, a valuable archive of television history that offers volumes of aired commercials from the 1960s to the 1990s on DVD and VHS, now has a newly redesigned, easier-to-navigate web site.

"Before August 2001, I would search online for commercials from the 1970s and 1980s, but the compilations I found were either badly edited, had poor picture quality, or were just plain boring," says Phillip Johnstone of Videomercials. "So I decided to trade videos only where they contained television commercials, and I began to compile those commercials the way most of us wanted to view them."

Videomercials (available online at http://www.80scommercials.com) has over 10,500 vintage television commercials from the 1960s, 1970s, 1980s and 1990s. These commercials are available for sale on close to 50 VHS or DVD volumes, as well as in the audio WAV format.

The Videomercials web site features a powerful search tool for users to locate a particular commercial, as well as listings of commercial summaries. Every commercial is of a quality ranging from good to excellent, and Videomercials' Bargain Basement offers specials and discounts on many volumes.

Videomercials specializes in obtaining commercials from actual airtime, with nothing edited except for the repeated commercials and the television programs. The web site accepts all major credit cards as well as check payments and money orders.

"Viewing these commercials is like opening time capsules onto an earlier age, discovering or reliving so much of our past," says Johnstone. "For every television aficionado or history buff, they're goldmines of detail and memories."
