Beaumont, Texas (PRWEB) June 12, 2007 -- The young residents at the Beaumont Texas Boys' Haven have a big success to celebrate. Their 2007 Annual Crawfish, Food & Music Festival raised the biggest "Net Income" amount in the 21 years that they have been holding the event. Part of the success was the dedication of board members like Robert Patton who co-chaired the event. Mr. Patton is the director of operations for 1st American Reserve, a Beaumont, Texas precious metal company. The total net results of all the collections exceeded ninety thousands dollars and the gross amount topped one hundred thousand dollars.
Robert Patton has been associated with Boys' Haven for many years and has been on its board for three years. His grandfather was involved in its early formation a few years after its 1945 creation by the Beaumont, Texas Optimist Club. Originally funded largely by hopes, prayers and the largess of generous Beaumont businessmen, the facility grew into an institution providing young boys with a safe, caring, loving environment where they gain confidence to better their self and learn skills to become productive citizens. One of the principle goals of the Haven was to instill the ideals of self-respect and responsibility towards self, community and country. It still teaches these core values that many institutions now overlook or even denigrate their importance in shaping the future of today's youth.
Beaumont Texas Boys' Haven has held an annual fund raising festival for the last 21 years. The extraordinary success of the 2007-year's drive was greatly influenced by Mr. Patton's management skills and his determination to break previous records set at this event. His take-charge manner honed by years of experience as director of operations at 1st American Reserve provided him with the credentials that promised the Festival's success. Robert Patton stated that he and the staff at Boys' Haven, "Continuously incorporate proven and innovative ideas with technology to refine programs and services in order to meet the growing and diverse needs of the children we serve."
Compassionate and forward thinking individuals are always sought to provide wisdom, role models, and financial assistance to help the institution flourish. Staffing the important annual festival creates an even a greater need for community involvement. Mr. Patton's affiliation with 1st American Reserve of Beaumont, Texas proved beneficial in finding some of these crucial volunteers. He quickly enlisted three of his associates to contribute their free time towards this important fund raising event. It is the selflessness and hard work of volunteers like these three, Jeff Medley, Kyle Adams, and Tara Hecht that enable these events to succeed. A part of their desire to help was their hope and belief that proper mentoring is fundamental in the mission to convince young people to make the appropriate changes and choices needed for them to succeed in life.
Mr. Patton a director for 1st American Reserve has pledged his company's continued financial support for the Beaumont Texas Boys' Haven. The success of this institution and its annual benefit serve as tributes to all those community minded individuals who accepted this yoke of responsibility to better the lives of the boys and show them that benevolence still exist in this world. Equally as nice is the uplifting of the spirit of those touched by the benevolence and the renewed community pride shared by those who came together to make it all happen.
