Chicago, IL (PRWEB) June 16, 2007 -- Imagine the Broadway Armory filled with gigantic floating blimps as symphonic performing speakers. More dynamic than the Goodyear Blimp, less catastrophic than the Hindenburg: Come see these dancing dirigibles in person on June 29-30, 2007 at 8:00 p.m.

Welcome to project Condor, a new media art performance that takes spatial and audio experiences to a new level. New media artist Casey Farina and lead engineer James Diomede III have been working tirelessly for the past year to design the worlds first lighter than air ( L.A.V.) eight channel audio system.

For the first time ever, multichannel musical compositions can be streamed wirelessly via Bluetooth technology to ultra light speaker arrays suspended from seven foot robotic blimps. This "aerial audio" system makes it possible for each speaker to dynamically change position throughout the performance. By combining this unprecedented sound system with a light show and video projection, project Condor is a multimedia performance unlike anything you ever experienced before.

Composers Theron Humiston, Stephen Syverud, Chris Mercer, Brett Masteller, Jonathon Kirk and Casey Farina have been commissioned to create six brand new electronic compositions that take full advantage of this completely unique audio experience. project Condor will be performed at the Broadway Armory, Granville and Broadway, on Friday June 29th and Saturday June 30th at 8:00 PM.

Project Condor is funded by a grant from CIRA (The Center for Interdisciplinary Research in the Arts) at Northwestern University and presented as part of "The Music Show" by Chicago City Arts Gallery.
